Dear friends, I must share this with you! Carol Finkle, remarkable, hardworking, and big hearted lady who is founder of Creative Access non-profit organization for 15 years in Philadelphia, PA. This organization was founded to promote the accessibility and equality for deaf people in visual of arts, cultures, communications and music. What inspired her to set this organization, by her two deaf beautiful full grown children Joshua and Abby Finkle.  Carol is going to retire in the fall, she wont retire until she accomplish something big, which is one month LONG of Deaf Arts/Culture PaH Festival in October 18-November 20.

I'm lucky to be her intern student for the summer, working as project assistant to Carol Finkle. Please check her website at www.creativeaccess.org for more information.

PaH IS A CELEBRATION

OF THE BEAUTY OF AMERICAN

SIGN LANGUAGE - NOT ONLY

AS THE ESSENTIAL MODE OF COMMUNICATION

FOR DEAF INDIVIDUALS, BUT AS A HIGHLY VISUAL

FORM OF ART.

HIGHLIGHTS OF EVENTS:

* October 19- Dedication & Ribbon-cutting Ceremony at Independence Seaport Museum

Opening of Seaport Cinema, the nation's most cutting edge captioned movie theater. Event to honor Marlee Matlin who will be serenaded by Deaf Rock n Roll Band, Beethoven's Nightmare!

*October 20- Deaf Artists Exhibition & Photographic Retrospective

To show case Deaf painters, sculptors, and photographers; And offer up over five hundreds archival photographs of Deaf performers, performances & audiences by Harvey Finkle and Rodney Atienza from 1980s to the present.

*October 22-26- Deaf Holocaust Testimonials

Dr. Simon Carmel's powerful and rarely experienced presentation of the tales and images of Deaf Holocaust survivors

*October 27-28- Extraordinary Deaf Cirque Carnivale

Hosted at the Reading Terminal Market (Food/Restaurant Market) and Philadelphia Mummer's Museum

*November 3- Sign Dance Collective in Concert: "But Beautiful"

A sign dance and musical tribute to jazz great Art Pepper at Philadelphia Cleff Club of Jazz.

*November 9- Bernard Bragg in Concert: Theater in the Sky

Father of Deaf Theater in America will bring his final, national tour to Independence Seaport Museum

November 9- The Wild Zappers at The Painted Bride

Thrill to the sign-dance and poetic beauty of The Wild Zappers: seven Deaf male hip-hop/pop/jazz dancers internationally and critically acclaimed since 1987.

*November 16- Deaf Comedy Central

The amazing Living Cartoon.. CJ Jones's  "What are you... DEAF?"

*November 16 & 17- Deaf CABARET Nights Friday & Saturday

Come drink, eat, Sign/Dance, & Schmooze at Dowling's Palace, brand new jazz club on North Broad Street! Deaf Burlesque and Baw-DE-Ville will delight and surprise you!!

*November 14- Prolific young author, Mark Drolsbaugh, will present his first book, "Deaf Again", at the Free Library of Philadelphia's popular Author Series, 1901 Vine Street- 7 pm sharp
